Pasikudah is famous for its massive shallow bay. You can walk hundreds of meters into the ocean and easily spot hermit crabs, starfish, and small reef fish. For sunset DJ sessions, check out Maalu Maalu Resort or Amaya Beach. They often host upscale beach lounge events as the east coast season kicks into high gear.
Bring your own snorkeling mask if you can. The rentals available directly on the beach can sometimes be a bit scratched up and cloudy.
If you want to see better marine life, hire a local boat right off the beach to take you to the outer reef edge for snorkeling.
The luxury resort parties there are more of a chill lounge vibe rather than a wild rave. Very classy with great cocktails and amazing seafood buffets.
The water is so flat it looks like a swimming pool in May. It is the perfect spot for recovery after a long week of traveling or partying.
