We booked a waterfall abseiling session at Bambarakanda, the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. How do adventure photographers keep their DSLR dry while hanging on the ropes in the spray.

You cannot safely operate a DSLR while actively abseiling down the main drop of Bambarakanda. The water pressure and spray are immense, and you need both hands for rope management. Professional adventure photographers usually rig a static line next to the waterfall and shoot from a hanging harness using an underwater housing. For participants, stick to a GoPro mounted securely to your helmet.

If you have a drone, have a friend launch it from the pine forest at the base. The aerial shots of someone descending that massive 263-meter drop look spectacular.
