Protecting cameras from mist and spray at Bambarakanda Falls

I want to photograph Bambarakanda falls from the base. Is the water spray too intense for a non waterproof camera.

Because Bambarakanda is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka (263m), the wind whips the water into a fine, soaking mist that covers the entire viewing area at the base. It will absolutely soak a DSLR in seconds. Bring a rain sleeve for your camera, and keep a microfiber cloth in your pocket to constantly wipe the lens element.

You are better off shooting it from the pine forest ridge on the hike up. Less spray, better angle.
