I want to film the train crossing the Nine Arch Bridge. Are there strict drone bans, or can I just launch it from the hillside.

We strictly enforce drone bans here. The Nine Arch Bridge is a high-traffic area and an active railway. Flying a drone without explicit written Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) clearance is illegal. If you fly over the crowd or the train, police stationed at the bridge will confiscate the drone immediately for public safety. Do not do it.

What if I fly it from the Asanka Cafe high up on the hill instead of the bridge.

There used to be 10 drones buzzing at once, it ruined the peaceful vibe of the jungle.

Just use your phone. The view from the tea bushes above the bridge is incredible anyway.

Understood. I will leave the drone in my backpack.

If a drone crashes into the train or the high-tension power lines, you will face severe criminal charges.

I saw a cop literally order a guy to land his DJI and put it in the police jeep last week.

It does not matter where you launch it from; the airspace over the bridge is restricted.
