Saturday gusts still 50 at noon - gardens at lunch a sail or just a hill midday

The 8-10am 36-to-50 column was the Ella-van question. New read on the 22:27 stamp: 11am 47, 12pm 50, 1pm 50, 2pm 50. If we lock gardens then 6.28 (other thread), lunch in Peradeniya is the windy bit, not dawn. Delay gardens to 3pm in the showers, go 8am in 36, or is 50 km/h at noon still just a hat.

Foreca Saturday 22:27: 8am gusts 36, 9am 43, 10am 50, 11am 47, 12pm 50, 1pm 50, 2pm 50, then 3pm 47 with showers. Met's 21 Aug bulletin had 30-40 kmph at times over western slopes of the Central hills - today's note, not a 22 Aug wind-warning we found. 50 km/h at noon is a hat-and-hold-the-map morning, not an automatic gardens close. No 22 Aug NBRO notice on the crawl at 10:42.

Go when gates open, leave before the 2-5pm rain, do not picnic under a tree in 50 km/h gusts. Back in town for 6:28.
