Scenic viewpoints near Kadugannawa pass.

The absolute best panoramic viewpoint is located directly at the top of the Kadugannawa pass, right next to the Dawson Tower. There is a wide, safe pull off area on the side of the main A1 highway where you can easily park your rental car. From there, you get a sweeping, completely unobstructed view looking straight down the winding mountain road and over the vast, lush green valley dropping towards Kegalle. It is particularly spectacular during the golden hour just before sunset when the mist starts rolling in.
