If you want a totally empty beach, head slightly east of Ahangama to Midigama Beach early in the morning. While it is known for surfing, the long stretches of sand are remarkably quiet compared to the main bays.

Another incredible secret spot is Secret Beach in Mirissa. It requires a steep walk or a specialized tuk tuk ride to get there, but it is a perfectly secluded cove with crystal clear water and very few tourists.
