Took the trainers off because the kerb was killing us, put them behind our bag like every blog said. Bag is here. Shoes are not. We are on Dalada in socks with a 15-minute walk to the hotel through this. Is this a police thing tonight or do we just buy rubber slippers off the next cart.

This is a street theft, not the temple shoe counter. Do not walk back into the roadway barefoot - glass, dung, and the whip line. Buy cheap rubber slippers off a cart or a pharmacy if you can reach one inland, then go. Report it tomorrow if you need a claim number; the season hotline is 081 22 33 333 and Tourist Police are extra this year. You will not get the trainers back from this crowd.

Happened to a couple next to us on Wednesday. They hopped inland to a small shop and bought slippers. Pay what the shop asks; it will still be less than a night in A&E.
