Tangalle has been noticeably quieter this week compared to Mirissa. Mirissa has more going on and can feel busier, especially around the main beach area. If you're looking for peace and don't need lots of restaurants or activities nearby, Tangalle is probably the better choice right now. Some people split time between the two — a few days in each. It depends what balance you're after. Tangalle feels more spread out and relaxed at the moment.
