Welimada is an incredibly beautiful genuinely untouched pristine region. You absolutely unequivocally must visit the spectacular Bomburu Ella waterfall which is officially the widest magnificent waterfall in Sri Lanka. The moderate hike there is wonderfully peaceful and completely beautifully free of massive loud tour groups.

Another deeply incredibly fascinating strictly local secret is the historic Bogoda Wooden Bridge. It is a stunning beautifully ancient completely roofed wooden bridge brilliantly built entirely without a single metal nail dating back strictly to the ancient Kandyan era.
