I am heading to the northernmost tip of the island. Is there a specific marker for the tip and what other local spots are worth a visit.

There is a small concrete sign marking the northernmost point of Sri Lanka near the Point Pedro jetty. Beyond the landmark, you should visit the Munai Beach for its calm waters and the nearby St. Lourdes Church which has beautiful coastal views. The town itself has a very laid back atmosphere with narrow streets and colorful houses. It is about an hour drive from Jaffna city through scenic palmyra groves.
