I see red and yellow flags on the beach. What do they signify for swimming safety?

Red and Yellow flags mean "Safe for swimming, lifeguard on duty". You should swim between these flags. If you see only Red, stay out of the water—the current is too dangerous.

Always ask the lifeguard if you aren't sure. They are very friendly and will tell you if the rip tide is strong.

Very helpful. I have seen the red ones, so I stayed on the sand. Glad I did.
