The Virgin White Tea is unique because it follows an ancient Chinese ritual where the tea leaves are never touched by human skin. The pluckers use golden scissors and gloves to harvest only the tiniest buds which are then dried using only filtered sunlight. It is exceptionally high in antioxidants and has a very delicate, sweet flavor. The tour is free and includes a tasting session where you can try over twenty different types of tea.
It is one of the few tea estates located so close to the ocean. This gives the tea a slightly salty undertone which is highly prized by connoisseurs. Even if you are not a tea fan, the colonial era machinery and the lush plantation walk are very enjoyable.
