What time does a train actually cross Nine Arch this week - not a 2019 blog

In Ella, walked to the bridge at 9 because Google said 9.30. Nothing. A guy selling king coconuts said maybe 11 something, maybe 4. I know the Kandy train is dead. I just want the two or three specials that still cross the bridge. This week's times if anyone is there.

Treat the old six trains a day lists as dead. Since 20 June there is a daily special pattern on Nanu Oya-Badulla. The one that matters for the bridge: the morning train that leaves Nanu Oya about 9:00 and is due Ella about 11:25-11:30, so it is on the bridge a few minutes after that, toward Demodara. Afternoon: a Badulla-origin train due Ella about 15:50-16:00, so the bridge is a few minutes before Ella if it is coming from Demodara. There may be a second Nanu Oya departure mid-afternoon - ask Ella station that morning, not me, not a 2019 screenshot.

We got the about-11:30 crossing, train was 20 minutes late. Go at 11, sit on the side path, do not stand on the rails. The 4pm one was the busier photo crowd.

Times move. WhatsApp your guesthouse at 8am and they will have called the station. That is the current timetable.
