I want to be respectful. What is the strict dress code for visiting Buddhist temples like the Temple of the Tooth or Dambulla.

The strict dress code for visiting Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka requires both men and women to cover their shoulders and knees completely. You must also remove your shoes and hats before entering the sacred grounds. Wearing white clothing is considered very respectful but is not mandatory.
