You will almost certainly see large water monitors and various species of kingfishers and herons. Crocodiles are present but can be shy, so sightings depend on the time of day. Most safaris on the Bentara River or the nearby Madu Ganga take about two hours. The highlight is often navigating through the dense mangrove tunnels which are incredibly atmospheric and cool even in the midday heat.
