The best place to watch traditional Kandyan dancing is right in Kandy city. The Kandy Lake Club organizes a spectacular daily evening show starting around 5 PM that features vibrant drumming and thrilling fire walking.

If you visit in July or August, watching the Esala Perahera festival on the streets is the ultimate experience. Thousands of traditional dancers and drummers perform in massive, energetic parades.
