To find deeply genuine intensely flavorful local seafood you must completely escape the brightly lit beachfront tourist strips. Look for incredibly tiny unassuming family run roadside eateries known locally as kades. They serve profoundly authentic fiery sour fish curry called Ambul Thiyal which is an absolute culinary masterpiece slowly cooked in deeply dark dried goraka fruit and intense black pepper.
