Where is the best place for a traditional High Tea in Nuwara Eliya?
2 Answers from travellers
The Grand Hotel is the most iconic choice for high tea. They serve it on the lawn or in the tea lounge from half past three to six in the evening. It includes a variety of Ceylon teas, scones with clotted cream, and finger sandwiches. The Hill Club is another excellent, more formal option. Booking a day in advance is wise during the April season as it gets very busy with local and foreign tourists.
If you want something more modern with a view, try the Jetwing St. Andrews. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for the chilly Nuwara Eliya evenings. Remember to bring a light jacket as the temperature drops significantly after sunset.
