I want to avoid the fake spice gardens. Where in Kandy town can I buy high quality local spices.

Do not buy from the tourist spice gardens on the highway. Go to the central municipal market in Kandy town. You will find local vendors selling fresh, high quality spices by weight at normal local prices.
