I am staying in Nuwara Eliya and want to try the Pekoe Trail. Which specific stage offers the best tea plantation views and is manageable for a day trip.

Stage 10 from Tientsin to Bogawantalawa is arguably the most beautiful segment for a day hike. It takes you through the heart of the Golden Valley of tea. The paths are well maintained and lead through some of the oldest estates in the country. The total distance is about fifteen kilometers and can be completed in five hours. You will need to arrange a tuk tuk to pick you up at the end of the trail as public transport is sparse in the valley.

If you want something closer to Ella, Stage 16 from Ella to Demodara is iconic because it passes the Nine Arch Bridge. It is much shorter and perfect for photography but it can get very crowded compared to the more remote stages in the Bogawantalawa area.
