We have a two year old. Where are the waves completely calm for babies.

Dalawella Beach, specifically the small lagoon area created by the natural rock reef, is the absolute best spot for toddlers. The rocks block all the big waves, creating a perfectly calm, shallow saltwater swimming pool.

Jungle Beach near Galle is also fantastic for small children. It is a highly protected cove, meaning the water is usually completely flat and free of the dangerous rip currents found on open beaches.

Dickwella Beach is another great option. It is a massive, wide bay protected by sandbars. The water near the shoreline is incredibly shallow and gentle, giving kids plenty of safe space to splash around.
