Which tea plantation offers the most authentic factory tour.

Pedro Tea Estate is widely considered the most authentic and educational tour in the Nuwara Eliya region. Because it is a smaller, fully operational factory, you get a very intimate look at the entire manufacturing process without feeling like you are in a massive tourist trap.
If you want another great option, the Bluefield Tea Gardens offer an excellent, highly detailed tour. They are slightly further out, which naturally filters out the massive crowds, allowing for a much quieter tasting session.
Unlike some commercialized estates, the guides at Pedro are incredibly knowledgeable about the exact chemistry of tea oxidation. You also get to walk right into the fields alongside the pluckers, which is a phenomenal experience.
