Most commercial surf hostels in Ahangama (like Dreamsea or The Kip) do not have curfews because they know their guests are there for the nightlife. They usually have a 24-hour security guard who will open the gate for you. However, if you are staying in a traditional family homestay, they will lock up by 10 PM. Always clarify before booking.

Just make sure you are quiet when you return. Surfers wake up at 5:30 AM for dawn patrol and hate being woken up by drunk backpackers.

I stayed at a smaller place and had to wake up the owners grandma at 3 AM to get in. It was terrible. Check the reviews for "party friendly".
