A brilliant hidden gem for sunset drinks is the rooftop bar at the Granbell Hotel in Colombo 03. It offers spectacular, completely unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean coast and is generally less crowded than the massive luxury hotels on the Galle Face green.

Botanano Cafe in Colombo 07 also has a lovely, quiet upper terrace. While it does not look over the ocean, it offers a beautifully peaceful sunset view over the lush city canopy and historic rooftops.
