Looking for good WiFi, co-working or quiet cafes, and a community. Any emerging spots besides the obvious surf towns?

Ahangama and Weligama still have the best infrastructure for nomads (co-working spaces, reliable fiber, cafes with good WiFi and power outlets). Ella is growing fast with several good cafes and quieter vibe. Galle Fort has some nice spots but can be touristy. For something different, consider Negombo or even smaller places like Hiriketiya if you don't need heavy co-working. Always test the WiFi speed when you arrive - it varies.

Many guesthouses now advertise 'work-friendly' rooms with good WiFi. Ask for recent reviews from other remote workers. Power cuts are rare now but backup power (UPS/inverter) is still useful in some areas.
