Can we walk the 1.27 km loop backwards now as a recap or is reverse-flow a police problem
We stood one corner and missed half of it. Partner wants to walk Dalada -> Raja Veediya the wrong way as a "we were here" recap now it is quiet. Sweepers were the other thread. This is us walking the published loop in reverse at 9.55.

The published loop is Dalada -> Katugodalla / Senanayake -> Raja Veediya -> Maligawa. That is a procession order, not a walking tour. If tape is down and you can see pavement, you may walk a street. Walking the whole 1.27 km "backwards" through leftover crowd and a possible jeep is how you meet a whistle. Inland one block is the recap.
Recap from the hotel with the official table. Saturday 6.28 is the same streets. You do not owe the asphalt a second lap at 9.55.

TukTuk or tour drivers take you to "gem museums" or "government-certified" gem shops. They receive huge commissions (up to 40%) on anything you buy. Prices are inflated 3-10x the actual value.
Men approach tourists near Temple of the Tooth offering to be guides. After the tour, they demand large "donations" or guide fees (5000-10000 LKR).
