You are generally allowed to take photographs of the beautiful exterior architecture and the colorful statues in the main halls of the Sri Vishnu Devala in Kandy.

However, taking photographs directly inside the inner sanctum where the main deity resides is usually strictly prohibited, especially during the active puja ceremonies.

Always look for the warning signs near the shrine doors, or simply ask a priest respectfully before you point your camera. It is always better to be cautious and polite.
