Yes, if you bring the tap water to a rigorous, rolling boil for at least three full minutes, it will kill all the harmful bacteria and parasites, making it completely safe to use for cooking pasta or brewing hot tea in your Airbnb.

However, boiling does not remove heavy metals or chemical runoff. If you are staying in a highly agricultural area, it is still significantly safer to just buy a five liter jug of purified bottled water from the supermarket specifically for cooking and drinking.

Never trust just warming the water up in a kettle. It must reach a violent, sustained boil to be considered medically safe for a foreign stomach.
