Do NOT walk along the actual beach sand at night While violent crime is rare the beach at night is unlit and attracts packs of highly territorial stray dogs that can be aggressive The main Galle road is better but still dangerous due to speeding night buses Just pay 500 rupees for a tuktuk waiting outside the club
