Clothes still wet and the bag is 6am - pack them damp or hang them in this 86 percent night
Laundry-tonight was a no. Socks-buy-in-the-morning was the other couple. We leave at 6. Everything we stood in is still damp and smells of oil. Hang it on the chair in 86 percent humidity until 5.45, or bag it wet and deal in Colombo. We are not waiting for a guesthouse wash.

86% at 24°C will not dry a cotton shirt by 5.45. Hang it anyway so it is not a sealed bag of smoke for six hours, then pack in a plastic shop bag inside the suitcase so the rest stays dry. Colombo / the next hotel's rail is the actual dry. Do not run a hair-dryer on a generator you do not understand.
Do not leave wet clothes on a shared balcony rail at 10.11 and assume they will be there at 5.45. Chair in the room. Door locked.
We bagged damp. The suitcase smelled like the street until Galle. Next time I would hang then bag.
Hanging on the chair then bagging in plastic. Not a sealed smoke suitcase.
Scam Watch: colombo
Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
