Has the public transport schedule been reduced or are buses still operating normally.

Yes, the local public bus network is operating completely normally. The fuel crisis that caused disruptions a few years ago is entirely resolved, and buses have full access to diesel nationwide.

Both the red government CTB buses and the private blue and white buses run incredibly frequently on all major routes. You will never have to wait long to catch a bus between cities like Colombo, Kandy, or Galle.

Ticket prices have increased slightly over the past few years to match inflation, but public transport remains outrageously cheap for foreign tourists, usually costing just a few dollars for a cross country journey.
