Lankatilaka Viharaya is a magnificent ancient brick temple located about 15 kilometers outside Kandy. You can hire a tuk tuk from the city center, which should cost around 2000 to 2500 LKR for a return trip including waiting time.

The temple sits on a massive rock outcrop and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. It is beautifully preserved and much quieter than the city temples.
