You absolutely must never send a thick neoprene wetsuit or rash guard to a standard street laundry service. They will ruthlessly machine wash it and bake it in an industrial tumble dryer completely destroying the elasticity and melting the seams. High end surf camps like Basecamp usually have dedicated fresh water rinsing stations and shaded outdoor drying racks specifically designed for caring for expensive surf gear safely. Always hand wash your own gear using fresh water.
