I am mapping out my hike from Ella to Demodara. Does the official Pekoe Trail route take you right across the famous Nine Arch Bridge or does it bypass it.

Yes, Stage 22 is arguably the most famous section because it incorporates the Nine Arch Bridge directly into the route. You will hike through the tea estates, cross the bridge, and then continue through the forest towards the Demodara looping railway station.

Start the hike at 6:30 AM from Ella. You will hit the bridge around 7:30 AM before the massive tourist crowds arrive, and you can catch the morning train crossing the arches.
