The absolute smartest incredibly safe method is to entirely avoid hiking directly up the completely vertical slippery face from the main highway at the bottom. Instead you should strictly hire a local tuk tuk driver from Koslanda to drive you up the steep back road to the Poonagala upper village.
From that specific upper drop off point it is only a brilliant incredibly easy thirty minute flat walk directly through the gorgeous rubber tree estates straight to the spectacular upper natural infinity pools. It completely saves you hours of massive exhausting physical climbing.
