I am doing a silent meditation session inside the Temple of the Tooth What are the exact rules for tourists sitting on the floor.

The dress code is strict: shoulders and knees must be fully covered for both men and women. Wearing pure white is highly recommended for meditation. Remove hats and shoes before entering. Yes, you can sit for long periods in the upper halls, but you MUST sit cross-legged or kneel so your feet NEVER point towards the Buddha statue or a monk.

Do not sit in the main drumming hall downstairs, it is too crowded and guards will ask you to move.

If you have a large Buddha tattoo visible, cover it up completely. It is deeply offensive here.
