Driving a rented tuktuk to Ahangama beach raves safety and parking

It is generally safe to park, as these clubs have security guards near the entrances. However, do NOT leave any bags, phones, or valuables inside the open cab. Also, finding parking on the main road at 1 AM is chaotic. Try to arrive early to snag a spot off the main highway.
A lot of drunk tourists accidentally scratch other parked tuk tuks while trying to reverse out of tight spaces in the dark. Park somewhere easy to exit.
If you are too tired to drive back, just leave it there, take a local Uber back to your hotel, and pick it up the next morning.
Just lock the steering column and take the key with you. Nobody is going to hotwire it.
The bigger issue is driving back. The police frequently set up breathalyzer checkpoints on the Galle Road outside Ahangama. If you drink, you cannot drive the tuk tuk.
