I want to photograph Bomburu Ella near Nuwara Eliya. It looks stunning but hard to find. Can I fly my drone there without annoying massive crowds.

Bomburu Ella is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka and an absolute hidden gem. It is a 2km trek from the main road through a beautiful forest reserve. Because it requires a hike, it is completely empty of large tour groups on weekdays. You will have plenty of space to fly your drone peacefully. Just be cautious of the heavy mist the waterfall generates, which can fog your drone lens.

The trail gets extremely muddy and slippery if it rained the night before. Wear proper boots.

Yes, there is a small village clearing where drivers park and wait. There are also tiny stalls selling hot tea.

Do not go on a Sunday! Local families go there for picnics and it gets very loud and crowded.

Is there a designated parking spot at the trailhead for a tuk-tuk.
