Expect to pay 8,000-12,000 LKR per day all-inclusive (fuel, driver accommodation, meals) for a good AC van with an experienced driver. Agree on itinerary and payment terms in writing. Good drivers become like family - many repeat visitors use the same person for years.
Ask for a driver who speaks good English and has done multi-day trips before. Check recent reviews if booking online. A good driver is worth every rupee - they handle everything from traffic to finding good local food.
