Entrance fees in Colombo fluctuate wildly depending on the specific venue and the night of the week. For highly popular clubs on a Friday or Saturday night expect to pay a cover charge of roughly 2000 to 5000 Sri Lankan Rupees per person.
If a massive international DJ is visiting the ticket prices will be significantly higher and must usually be purchased online well in advance. Always check the venues social media pages for the most accurate nightly pricing.
However many clubs offer completely free entry for ladies before midnight or waive the cover charge entirely if you commit to reserving a VIP table and purchasing premium bottles of alcohol.

Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
