To catch the fast, luxury AC highway bus to Matara, you should go to the Makumbura Multimodal Center MMC. It is a modern transport hub located just outside central Colombo, right at the entrance to the Southern Expressway.

You can easily reach Makumbura from central Colombo by taking a quick Uber or a local feeder bus. The highway buses depart very frequently, roughly every twenty minutes, and the journey to Matara takes less than two hours via the smooth toll road.
