While Hutch and Airtel are often significantly cheaper, their high speed 4G coverage drops dramatically outside of major cities. In Galle town you will be fine, but if you travel slightly inland or to smaller beaches, you will lose signal.

Dialog and Mobitel are the undisputed kings of coverage in Sri Lanka. It is highly recommended to pay the few extra dollars for a Dialog SIM to guarantee you have fast internet everywhere on the south coast.
