I bought a beautiful Saree in Colombo. If I wear it respectfully to the Temple of the Tooth, will locals be offended?

Absolutely not! Sri Lankans LOVE seeing foreigners wearing traditional dress. They will be incredibly flattered and honored. You will probably have local aunties coming up to you offering to help adjust the pleats to make it look perfect.

I wore a Kandyan Osariya (the local style of Saree) and received nothing but massive smiles and compliments all day. Go for it!
