We have a seven year old. Can they handle the hike up the rock.

The vast majority of the Pidurangala hike is a relatively straightforward walk up uneven stone stairs completely manageable for an active seven year old. However the absolute final section is highly problematic.

Furthermore the summit itself is completely open with zero metal safety railings and sheer vertical drops on all sides. You must keep a relentlessly firm grip on your child at all times if you choose to take them to the top.

To reach the flat summit plateau you must physically scramble over massive steep boulders with very few handholds. A child will definitely need an adult to physically lift and push them up over these rocks safely.
