Is the Udarata Menike running on the reopened Badulla-Ambewela line?

The track between Badulla and Ambewela was officially reopened recently and the Udarata Menike is running its regular schedule. This is arguably the most beautiful section of the entire rail network. We recommend booking seats in the observation cabin as the train passes through the New Zealand farms and high altitude tea gardens. Demand is very high this week, so try to book at least 48 hours in advance.
