Coverage is surprisingly good on the stages closer to Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, but it drops significantly when you enter the deeper valleys of the Bogawantalawa region. Dialog and Mobitel are the most reliable. If you are working remotely, plan your stays in the tea bungalows which often have satellite or fixed line internet. Do not rely on 4G for video calls while actually walking the trail as the signal is very patchy between tea bushes.
