Kid is done and crying - is the last elephant even coming or do we bail now
She lasted from 5.30. We saw dancers, a few tuskers, a lot of fire. She is now a dead weight on my hip and asking for the hotel. People keep saying "wait for the big one." Is there a last elephant that is actually different or is that the relic casket and we already missed the bit she would remember.

The Maligawa tusker with the relic casket is the one people wait for. On a Kumbal night it is still the emotional peak, not a different species of elephant. If she is already in tears, leave. Sunday Randoli and Thursday Grand Randoli are when "the last one" is a story. A crying child in a squeeze is how families get separated.
We bailed Wednesday at the first melt-down and stood Sunday instead. No regrets. Carry water and a landmark ("Queen's corner clock") if you split.
Do not put her on a wall or a stranger's stool "just for the last five minutes."
If we split, is Queen's corner clock actually a thing people use or will I just lose her in a drum line.
