Leaving tuk tuks at Dikwella parties to do sunrise yoga on the beach
4 Answers from travellers
It is generally safe to leave a tuk-tuk parked in the designated lots near Hiriketiya or Dikwella clubs overnight, as long as you take the key and lock the steering column. NEVER sleep on the beach. It is unsafe, illegal for tourists, and you will likely be harassed by stray dogs or beach boys. Book a cheap hostel bed for the night so you can rest properly before your yoga.
If you leave it parked, make sure nothing of value is visible. Take your yoga mats inside the club cloakroom with you.
Sandflies will eat you alive if you sleep on the sand. You will be way too itchy and exhausted to do any yoga.
Make sure you do not park the tuk-tuk under coconut trees overnight. A falling coconut will smash the windshield.
