Lipton Seat sunrise hike starting from a local Dambatenne homestay

We booked a homestay near the Dambatenne Tea Factory. How early do we need to wake up to hike to Lipton Seat for sunrise, and is the path obvious.

From the Dambatenne factory, it is a 7km uphill walk. You need to start walking by 4:00 AM to catch the 5:45 AM sunrise. The path is very obvious; it is a paved road that zigzags through the tea bushes all the way to the top. Make sure you get there early, because the mist rolls in by 9:00 AM and completely blocks the panoramic view.

Bring a flashlight. The tea estates are pitch black and there are occasional wild boars.

If you are lazy, you can hire a tuk-tuk to drive you up in the dark and then just walk down. Walking down is beautiful.
